Do you want to experience the real camping feeling at a rustic campsite in the South of France, but don’t feel like straightening your caravan and placing an awning? We have the solution for you. You can rent a caravan at Le Grand Bois campsite. It is already ready for you, so that you can immediately enjoy your holiday.
Le Grand Bois is a three-star campsite located just outside Le Poët-Célard and close to Bourdeaux, Dieulefit and Saoû. There is plenty to do in the area. For the sportive there are mountains to climb (walking or cycling) and you can tame the Drôme river with a canoe. There is also plenty to do in Drôme, in the southeast of France, for lovers of markets and cultural and historical places. You can find an overview of this in our environment page.
Our green-colored caravan dates from the nineties and is located in the wooded part of the campsite. The caravan has a terrace with a roof. The roof is also placed over the caravan, so that you are well protected against the heat. The caravan has a double and a single bed. There is also a kitchen (with fridge and coffee maker). To increase comfort, we have put an outdoor kitchen and large fridge on the terrace.
At the campsite you can use the facilities, such as the sanitary building, the bar and restaurant, and the outdoor swimming pool with children’s pool. The restaurant is open daily in high season. In other periods, a dish of the day is prepared (reservation required).
The caravan is free to book from 1 May to about 20 September. In high season the caravan can be booked for a minimum of four days. The check-in day is any day of the week
Le Grand Bois is a small campsite. In addition to the caravan, we have 28 camping pitches (forest and sun pitches) and we rent 9 Safari tents and a chalet. In the guesthouse we rent 4 luxury rooms and an apartment.

“Beautifully situated campsite with beautiful places, a lovely swimming pool and playground. Great food at the bar and clean bathrooms. Beautiful places among the trees, shaded. Nice and criss-crossed. Plumbing just sufficient for the number of places, reception opening hours limited.”
“We had a great time at this campsite. Swimming pool is wonderful and sanitary is clean. Restaurantje offers good quality beyond expectations. For (young) children it is wonderful to be here.
Downsides we find the relatively small places and therefore little privacy. Places are beautifully situated in the forest and therefore have natural shade. In addition, we thought it was not a quiet campsite. This is mainly due to the many children who roam around the campsite very late and the centrally located restaurant.
All in all had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.”

Le Grand Bois is located in the Drôme area, in southeastern France. In the corner of the Ardèche and Provence. The Mont Ventoux mountain lies on the border of the Drôme and Provence. The area is mountainous and that is ideal for a nice walk for example. The many places in the area such as Grignon and Nyons are also recommended.

We, Jolande Siepman and Eelco Grebel, have been living in the beautiful De Drôme area in Southeastern France since 2005, after having lived in Utrecht for years.
